Transition Your Summer One Piece Into the Perfect Fall Bodysuit
Not ready to give up your summer one-piece? We partnered with sustainable swimwear brand, Tiller Swim, to provide all the outfit inspiration you need to convert your one-piece into the perfect fall bodysuit.
You may remember Tiller Swim from C&W’s third issue, where we interviewed the brand’s founder, Kathleen Sheppard, on all of the insider information behind this sustainable new swimwear brand. All pieces are manufactured in Bali using sustainable materials and ethical practices. All Tiller swimwear fabric is comprised of 78% recycled nylon sourced from things like abandoned fishing nets, post-consumer product waste and plastic bottles. All employees are paid above wage standards, are given top of the line equipment and work stations, and have opportunities to learn about the sustainable fashion industry through a variety of workshops and resources.
Yes, you can wear swimsuits every single month of the year. In fact, we highly recommend it. As stated by Kathleen, “in this new line, the pieces that are not reversible are designed in a way that they will be multi-purpose as wear. There are pieces that double as bodysuits and tops that can be worn as bralettes, giving each piece additional value and purpose.” So, we took the streets of the Financial District in New York City to style Tiller’s three incredibly versatile and high-quality one pieces for colder weather. Not only are these suits extremely comfortable and easy to throw on with a pair of jeans and a jacket, they are chic and sustainable. What more is there to love? Whether you’re enjoying a casual day outside, getting drinks with friends or grabbing dinner at your favorite restaurant, these swimsuits-turned-bodysuits are the essential pieces you need in your wardrobe this fall… and every season after that!
Occasion: Casual Day Out
For a casual day out, we paired the Paloma One Piece with a camouflage cargo jacket, a ruffled black skirt from Princess Polly, a black bag with silver finishes, and a chic pair of sunglasses. For those late September and early October days, this look is serious perfection. If you’re looking to add more dimension to a mostly black look, wear your Paloma one piece on the Polka Dot side and throw on a cropped denim jacket.
Occasion: Drinks with Friends
We’re obsessed with Tiller Swim’s Coco One Piece for good reason. Not only are we loving the one-shoulder cut of this suit, the sand color is so chic and versatile. We paired this suit with a pair of black ripped jeans and boots for a casual yet classic vibe. Add a blazer or denim jacket for those chilly (socially distant) nights out on the town with friends. We also love this suit with a denim skirt and sneakers.
Occasion: Dinner at a Trendy Restaurant
The Catalina One Piece is so flattering, we’re never taking it off. Catch us wearing this all year long, from the streets of New York to the California beaches. We paired this one piece with a pair of straight leg denim, a studded leather jacket, black heels, and a YSL bag, of course. For a more casual look, swap out the heels for your favorite pair of sneakers.
