Popular Wellness Buys: Love or Pass

We’ve all been hearing people rave about the products they’ve bought during quarantine to help them get through this difficult time. The Instagram stories about blue light glasses, or your friends talking about the absolutely amazing workout app they found the other day; all of it sounds absolutely necessary, right? But, what if they aren’t? To help you figure it all out, we’ve rounded up a list to let you know what’s actually worth the money.

CBD has been the latest craze in the health and wellness world and it actually helps with a lot of health issues. For example, it can alleviate anxiety and depression, reduce migraines, fight insomnia, and all without giving you any high. This is why it is even more popular in the time of quarantine and reduced social activity. CBD comes in oils, capsules, vape oils, and wax- aka CBD candles- who would’ve thought? If you do want to try CBD though, I would recommend asking a doctor before you go through with anything. After all, there’s no harm in checking in to make the smartest and safest decision!

If you do decide to try CBD, it’s important to purchase from trustworthy companies. One of the best options for CBD products with an affordable price point is Highline Wellness.

Blue Light Glasses

Quay and Eye Buy Direct have great options for Blue Light Glasses

Quay and Eye Buy Direct have great options for Blue Light Glasses

Blue light glasses have been around for a little while now, but they’ve gained popularity during quarantine. They basically block or filter out the harmful blue light that is given off by screens- phones, tablets, TVs. Wearing blue light glasses helps to protect your eyes from those lights, and also helps you sleep at night. Due to quarantine, our time spent with digital screens has significantly increased--just take a look at your screen time--which is why blue light glasses are actually a very good investment right now. Gotta protect your eyes!

Quay Australia has affordable blue light glasses that don’t compromise on quality. They also have a sales section with some pieces more than 50% off right now. If you’re feeling anxious about buying glasses online, they have a virtual try-on feature on the website so you can see what the glasses would look like on you! Another great store to buy from is EyeBuyDirect. They have 2 kinds of blue light glasses to choose from depending on what you’re looking for. They’re slightly more pricey than Quay but also very trustworthy. And you’ll have them in your hands within 2 days!

Workout Apps

Have you considered spending on a workout app subscription? Everyone’s been on a workout challenge craze lately because of all the gym closings, the excess baking, and Netflix binging. However, we’re here to tell you that you have options. You do not need to spend money on a monthly subscription. One option would be Youtube. There are countless workout challenges on Youtube for free that have raving reviews; for example, the Chloe Ting workout routines (which are phenomenal by the way!). Aside from Youtube, there are countless free workout plans online for you to follow. If you do, however, want to pay for a workout app, Down Dog is currently offering a free subscription for their HIIT and Yoga workout apps to college students until July 1st. After July 1st, the subscription is $7.99 per month.

Intermittent Fasting Apps

Intermittent fasting apps are a new choice amongst people looking to improve their health. Intermittent fasting is an eating routine in which you would eat all your meals within a specific number of hours and then “fast” for the remaining hours. A 16:8 routine is the most popular choice amongst people who choose to intermittent fast; meaning you fast for 16 hours of the day and eat all your meals within an 8-hour window. Intermittent fasting helps to reduce inflammation, improve gut health, improve cognitive health, and balance insulin levels. It is also used to help people lose weight because that is actually one of the side effects. Intermittent fasting apps help you track your eating and fasting windows. Some apps require you to pay a subscription fee and offer diet plans, access to experts, etc. However, there are also amazing free options like Zero, which I’ve actually been using for 2 years now, and I prefer over the paid options. So I’m going to have to pass on the paid options. If you feel like intermittent fasting may be something you’re interested in, please do your research and make a choice that is healthy for your body before downloading any apps.

I have not been compensated to advertise any of the above products.
