How to Incorporate European Elements Into Your 2021

We may not be able to physically travel to Europe this year, but that’s definitely not stopping us from taking style, beauty, lifestyle, and home inspiration from some of our favorite places.

Parisian Elements

For starters, Parisian style quite literally never goes out of style. This year, we’ll be shopping heavily from the sale sections of Parisian brands like Maje, Sandro, Sézane, Ba&sh, and The Kooples. Elegant, feminine, and understated pieces that evoke that certain sense of je ne sais quoi are going to take over the streets in 2021. Creating a capsule wardrobe that never goes out of style is, in fact, the way to go when it comes to staying on budget and styling outfits that you won’t regret in five years.

Another Parisian element we’re including in our lives this year is what we like to call the “Parisian Diet.” The French find it extremely important to connect food with love and joy. By being present during meals and simply enjoying the food, you are able to digest better, be less stressed, and feel better after eating. Not to mention, the French prefer quality over quantity when it comes to food, which helps with portion control. For your next dinner party, be sure to use organic ingredients and cook a classic meal. Don’t forget the wine, as the French incorporate fine wine whenever possible.

Scandinavian Elements

Whenever I scroll through my TikTok or Instagram feed, Danish-inspired interior design tips seem to be literally everywhere. Namely, I’ve been seen lots of eccentric furniture, twisty candles, pastel colors, and quirky accents. With springtime approaching, this decor style is perfect for brightening up any space, big or small.

This interior design style has become so popular that people have figured out how to make their own twisty candles. All you need are some paraffin dinner or taper candles, and a bowl filled with warm water. Once the candle has been soaking in water for around 10 minutes, it can be manipulated into any shape you’d like.

Italian Elements

The Italian lifestyle is simply a dream. If I could eat burrata at a neighborhood café every day, I would. The history, landscapes, and culture makes this country an especially magical place to experience. From the eccentric cities of Rome and Milan to the rolling hills of Tuscany to the fashionable island of Capri, Italy is filled with beauty of all kinds. This year, I want to make a point of truly taking in the beauty of the world everyday. Go to local museums, drive to the nearest waterfront, and spend more time outside this year.

Another element of Italy to take into your 2021 is to follow Italian fashion designers. With Prada’s Re-edition collection and Alessandro Michele continuing to dominate the luxury world at Gucci, Italian brands are still having a moment, and this is sure to continue in 2021. I live for designer staples that will transcend through the trends, so I also recommend saving up for that one designer item that you’ve always wanted this year. You won’t regret it.

And finally, eat all of the pasta and pizza you want to in 2021, you deserve it!
