Upcoming Trends to Watch Out For This Fall 2020 Season

To get ahead of the game, I’ve compiled a list of the top Ready-to-Wear runway trends for you to gain inspiration from for this upcoming Fall 2020 season.

With an emphasis on romanticism, structure and dark colors, along with many bohemian and sexy details, these trends can elevate any style for the upcoming fall and winter months.

Feminine Frills

This fall, expect uber-feminine maxi dresses to hit the Zara near you very soon. Perfect for autumn weddings, candlelit dinner dates, and long walks, you will definitely see me taking full advantage of this trend.

Black Lace and Ruffles

This trend is definitely paying homage to Dark Romanticism, and I’m here for it. Expect to see lots of black lace and ruffles this fall. Pair with leather accessories and lace tights for the ultimate trendy look.

Grey Maxi Coats

So many designers are all about the maxi coat this fall. Specifically, maxi coats in shades of grey are here to stay. Whether you prefer a houndstooth pattern, dark grey wool or checkered print, investing in a quality maxi coat will last you for winters beyond and make every outfit chic while you’re on the streets.

Velvet Dreams

Who doesn’t love a velvet moment for the holiday season? This trend is going to be so amazing for any holiday event or a New Years Eve party look. Forest green and violet velvet will surely take the stage in addition to classic black velvet pieces.

Black Leather

These leather runway looks are to die for. By mixing feminine silhouettes with masculine leather, this trend is completely elevated from the usual leather jacket we see every winter. Look out for leather skirts and dresses, as well as leather jackets with new shapes for the ultimate grunge look.

The Oversized Cardigan

Thank god the oversized cardigan is trendy this season because this is my go-to fall look for the colder months every year. Play with colors and textures with this trend and don’t be afraid to pair with unexpected items like a pair of black tights or bright-colored pants.

Schoolgirl Aesthetic

Back to school season is in full force with this uniform-esque style taking a chance on the runway. Think collared shirts, knee-high socks, ties, and suspenders.

Power Suits

Talk about making a statement! A chic suit goes a long way in getting things done. With more offices reopening this fall, I recommend going on a hunt for a statement suit that you feel confident in. Make sure to get it tailored so it fits you perfectly.

Sweater Dresses

Interestingly, I noticed this trend everywhere on the Fall 2020 runway. Sweater dresses can be chic - just look for midi sweater dresses in neutral colors with a twist, think off-the-shoulder and puffy sleeves. For a more structured look, pair with a belt and knee high boots.

Western Chic

Never heard of western chic? Well, here it is. Although I personally won’t be adopting this trend into my everyday style, I am definitely taking note of how these brown leather boots are being styled.

Fringe Hem Detailing

Fringe is officially back! 1920s inspired dresses with fringe detailing were all over the runway for Fall 2020. I think this trend will be so fun for this holiday season and am excited to see how other brands will utilize fringe for nighttime dresses.
