4 Looks Inspired By Gossip Girl Thanksgiving Episodes You Need To Recreate This Holiday Season
Hey Upper East Siders!
The holiday season is officially upon us with Thanksgiving right around the corner! We all know that S & B serve their best looks hot before they dish it out on the dinner table (and I’m not talking about the turkey). While this year’s Season of Thanks may look different, it does not mean we can slack on our annual holiday outfits! With the help of the two battling queens of the Upper East Side, I’ve rounded up and recreated four looks inspired by four of our favorite Gossip Girl Thanksgivings with a trendy update!
Care to partake in this fashionable feast?
Outfit #1: Blair Waldorf, Season 1, Episode 9 ‘Blair Waldorf Must Pie’
Blair knows a thing or two when it comes to hosting the perfect holiday gathering, with her host fashion being an integral part of the day of festivities! One of my absolute favorite outfits from Queen B is from the first Thanksgiving episode. Her decadent Marc By Marc Jacobs gold slip dress, a go-to string of luminous pearls, and the addition of her staple headband makes for an iconic look.
2020 Blair Waldorf would definitely wear Amanda Uprichard and, of course, her mask would need to match it perfectly! This re-inspired look still includes some of Blair’s staple accessories (pearls, headbands, and black stockings), but paired with a modern jewel-tone dress and dumpling shape clutch.
Outfit #2: Serena Van Der Woodsen, Season 2, Episode 11 ‘The Magnificent Archibalds’
In the second Thanksgiving episode from the series, Serena models a warm-tone fall color palette look for her first holiday spent with Aaron (remember that extremely short-lived relationship)! Regardless of our fave Van Der Woodsen’s choice of men, this look epitomizes classic holiday dressing!
While I love to see S sport this high-sheen silk-on-velvet look, I couldn’t resist styling this marigold blazer from Endless Rose with the highly coveted Wilfred mahogany leather pants! Ditch Serena’s statement beads for a chunky chain and you’ve instantly mastered three of fall 2020’s hottest trends!
Outfit #3: Serena Van Der Woodsen, Season 3, Episode 11 ‘The Treasure of Serena Madre’
Ah! My personal favorite Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episode and arguably my favorite Serena ‘fit! In the dramatic dinner, Trip and Serena’s salacious affair is revealed! While S closes the door on her relationship with Nate’s cousin and politician, she still served a sexy, décolletage black jumpsuit.
For a modern twist, and something you definitely can wear comfortably around family, I’ve opted for a perfect-for-the-holidays sheer-sleeve top with drapey black trousers. Replace her diamonds with these hoop drop pearls for a trendy, yet tasteful look!
Outfit #4: Blair Waldorf, Season 6, Episode 8 ‘It’s Really Complicated’
An appropriate choice for the fourth and final re-inspired look is Blair’s bold powersuit from the final season’s Thanksgiving episode. B trades her signature darling and preppy look for something more mature in these characters’ not so merry holiday!
This re-imagined look calls for a more current yet feminine interpretation of the classic tweed suit. Paired with a Waldorf-approved satin pussy-bow blouse and timeless pair of black pumps to call back to the character’s fashion roots!
