It’s Not Water: Honey Lavender Gin & Tonic
It’s finally summertime, and the beauty of nature is so evident everywhere you look. I was inspired by the sweet gifts of nature to create this botanical cocktail that highlights organic honey, lavender, and fresh lemon juice. The perfect summer take on a Gin & Tonic, this drink is easy to make and easy to drink.
Ingredients:
Organic honey
Water
Dried lavender
1 lemon
Gin
Tonic water
Instructions:
To start, make a honey lavender syrup. I know this sounds like a lot of effort, but it’s actually super quick and easy, and tastes amazing. To do this, add one part honey and one part water to a small pot on low heat, then add in dried lavender sprigs, and mix until the honey melts into the water and it becomes one cohesive syrup.
After it cools, pour your desired amount of the honey lavender syrup into a cup with ice. I started with about an ounce of the syrup, but you can always add more later to balance out the lemon.
Squeeze lemon into your glass. I use a full lemon because I love the tartness mixed with the sweet honey.
Pour in a shot of gin.
Mix this all together with the ice with a long spoon.
Then, pour tonic water over the top to fill the glass.
Garnish with a lemon slice and a couple of lavender sprigs.
