How to Host a Chic Friendsgiving on a Budget

The holiday season feels a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still find ways to celebrate.

Friendsgiving always seems like a fun and stress-free celebration, until you find yourself as the hostess.  Check out these tips for hosting your first chic holiday dinner with your 40 hour week and starter salary.

Tip 1:  Plan Ahead

Invite everyone as far in advance as you can so you know what to prep for.  Make a checklist of everything you need for the day, figure out your menu, activities and everything else.  This is a huge time saver and really helps for managing your party-hosting anxiety.  The more prepared you feel, the better.

Tip 2:  Don’t Host Alone

You may be hosting your Friendsgiving in your apartment, but don’t be afraid to ask your friends to contribute.  Make it a potluck and coordinate dishes together, have someone help create the playlist for the night, and plan some fun activities together.  It’s a lot more fun for everyone when these events are a group effort.

Tip 3:  Decorate the Night Before

This is one less thing you have to do on the actual day and it can be so fun!  Avoid the disposable themed plates and decorate your table with fun fall leaves, candles and more for that perfect ‘Instagrammable’ look.  If you’re not sure what to look for or just haven’t hosted before, check out some of these items below (they’re all under $50 a piece).
