The Detox Treatments I’m In Love With
In February, we seem to find ourselves talking a lot about love.
Some of us make plans for Valentine’s Day, others give ourselves a big box of chocolate, turn on a movie and reflect on relationships past. Whatever your plans this year, we can all use some kind of detox. Maybe you want to prep your skin for date night, or maybe you're trying to cleanse your life of all that is unwanted - blemishes, toxic relationships, the junk food you ate last night … take your pick.
Anyway, I’ve linked some of the most effective detox peels and treatments for any skin type. Like many, my skin tends to go through phases, so these are the products that work best in each case. Maybe saying that I’m in love with them is dramatic, but when you really think about it, what is there to love more than clear skin? Shop the list below.
There’s something about a peel off mask. Just the simple action of drawing the treatment away from your skin feels so satisfying. I like this mask in particular because it not only pulls toxins away from the skin as it’s removed, but it also is made up of a botanical blend that has been scientifically proven to promote and strengthen the skin’s ability to perform self-detox into the future. The price is a bit intimidating, but a little bit goes a long way - in every sense of the phrase.
I love CAUDALÍE products. Not only do they always smell great - the brand is based around the anti-aging power of grape-seed oil - but I have yet to use a product that doesn’t make my skin feel refreshed afterwards. This mask is great, specifically for use when my skin is producing more oil than usual, as it draws a lot out of the skin, leaving pores feeling tight and clear. My favorite thing about this pretty pink mask? It contains coffee extract, which is supposed to be a great absorber of excess oil and dirt. Coffee… what would we do without it?
As we know, it is important to use gentle products on dry skin. Harsh chemicals and traditional pore-tightening ingredients found in most detox masks can often do more harm than good when the skin is already lacking hydration. This particular mask is the perfect product to restore moisture to the skin while still successfully pulling out the nasty stuff. This is also a great product for winter or summer. Whether you’re looking to hydrate in the cold or soothe your sunburn, this refreshing mask is a must-have. Made from extracts of cucumber, papaya, chamomile, pineapple, orange, lemon, sugar maple, and more, it smells amazing too.
So, obviously none of these masks can actually remove toxic energy, relationships, diets, etc. from your life, but I’d say that spending some time on a bit of self-care is certainly a great start.
