Washington, D.C.

Every spring in Washington, D.C., thousands of cherry blossom trees will come into bloom. In celebration of the event, the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place from the last week in March to the second week in April. Take a trip to D.C. to see these beautiful cherry blossoms for yourself, and be sure to stay for the Petal Porch Parade and Blossom Kite Fly. You can also walk around to view all of the Art in Bloom installments as well as the unique decor from local businesses!

Holland, Michigan

For all of the tulip-lovers, Holland, MI hosts another springtime festival that you won’t want to miss. In the first week of May, more than four million tulips come into bloom, and the town hosts the Tulip Time Festival to celebrate the state’s Dutch heritage. Typically, there will be parades, carnival rides, traditional Dutch food, and more. However, this year, events like Yoga in the Tulips, a virtual artisan market, the Tulip Time Run, floral arranging classes, and the Tulip Time Scavenger Hunt will be held to uphold health and safety protocol!

Savannah, Georgia

If you’re looking for breathtaking scenery, Savannah, GA is likely the place for you. With more than 20 town centers filled with colorful azaleas, camellia blossoms, beautiful fountains and monuments, and Spanish moss, this is the ultimate springtime destination. Book a trip with friends or your significant other, and plan for trolley rides around the historic towns, cocktails on the riverfront, a walk through Forsyth Park, and stocking up for a picnic at the Forsyth Farmers’ Market.

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston, SC is a spring classic. With year-round mild temperatures, you certainly won’t need to debate bringing your parka in preparation for unreliable weather conditions. Walk around to enjoy the gorgeous hanging moss, cobblestone streets, historic mansions, views of the Cooper River, and so much more. If you’re able to make it, visit during the 74th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens in late March to May or the 34th Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival on April 25!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina & Tennessee

Visit this interstate national park, better known as the “Wildflower National Park,” if you truly want to be one with the flowers. Here, you’ll find 1,500 types of flowers - more species than any other national park on the continent. Flower season typically ends between May and June, so plan your visit in March or April!
