A Day in the Life in San Francisco

Whenever I visit home, I get to stay with my sister in her apartment in the heart of the marina of San Francisco.

She lives with her fiancé and puppy, just a 10-minute walk from the water. I absolutely love spending time in her apartment, obviously because I get to visit my best friend, but also because we can explore the city together. Here is a layout of a typical weekend day in the life of a San Franciscan:

The day begins with an alarming wake-up call from my sister’s 1-year-old puppy, Maisy. She burns into my room and licks my face until I’m up, and then she lays in bed with me while I check my phone. I turn to the side and see my sister finishing up her yoga session in the room next to me. After brushing my teeth and completing my morning facial routine, I get dressed and strap Maisy up in her halter for our morning walk to Equator - our favorite coffee shop. If indoor dining weren’t closed due to COVID, all three of us would usually go to a cute brunch place like Caffe Union, Squat & Gobble, or Home Plate

After this, we typically spend the day playing board games, catching up on work, or going on a long walk around the city. My favorite hiking place is through Lovers’ Lane in the Presidio, among a collection of beautiful trees. Another great walk is along the water beside the Golden Gate Bridge. Sometimes, on the way back from our walks, we will stop and shop in the cute boutiques on Chestnut Street.

After returning to the apartment and showering, we all take time to do some work, play with Maisy, or play piano in the back room. For dinner, we will typically go to Perry’s and order the glorious potato skins. They are better than how I could ever describe them in words [insert chef’s kiss here].

When we get back, we will Doordash The Baked Bear for dessert and curl up on the couch for a movie or tv show! It’s too bad that The Office was taken off of Netflix because that was our all-time favorite binge-watch show. I absolutely love spending time in the city with my sister, so I hope you enjoyed hearing about our typical day together and will visit some of our favorite spots in San Francisco!
