Transform Your WFH Space in One Day

Because even in quarantine, I know you don’t have time to remodel.

As many of us sit in our childhood bedrooms we are surrounded by the decor we once loved. Since I have been home, I have definitely updated some things in my bedroom that have made a world of a difference in how I feel. The best part is, these updates cost me less than a weekend would back at school.

First clean your space , I’ll be focusing on my bedroom because that’s where my office, mean desk, is. When refreshing your space, tune into your senses. Make a list: what you want see, hear, smell, and feel?  This will guide you.

Here is my list! I took my thoughts into account while freshening up my space.

Here is my list! I took my thoughts into account while freshening up my space.

Sense 1: What I see

I first cleared off my desk and cleaned it. Then I picked up some flowers from Trader Joes to brighten up my room. This little daisy bouquet brings some of the nature I was looking to see inside.

I then gathered some mirrors that we have (because we recently moved) and added these to my room. This is helpful to make your space feel larger and even propping them up against a wall is a great way to add mirrors if you prefer to not put holes in the wall. Here is a nice hanging mirror if you’re into that, though.

I have also been recently working on a Canvas painting to hang above my bed. It’s not done yet but it’s a fun project I’m working on and I’m planning to hang it above my bed for more color in my room.

Sense 2: Hear

This should cost you nothing ! Put on some music or open a window if you’re longing for a little background music. I also use the app forest as a focus app but they have some free sounds that are good to work to.

Sense 3: Smell

It is known that certain scents are linked to productivity. I personally really like this Voluspa candle (although I’m not sure if this smell is linked to being more productive) but it helps me focus sometimes! Opening a window is really nice in the spring!

Sense 4: Feel

Making your bed with fresh linens or sheets about every two weeks is important so that your bedding maintains that crisp feel. If you want to splurge, purchasing new sheets can be a huge upgrade to your room, this LoveShackFancy Gordon Quilt is so beautiful. I f you’re going for a clean springy look, I would recommend floral sheets or just plain white.

If you’re looking for something cozy for your feet, a fluffy white area rug by your bedside is always nice. One with a little shape is ideal because it adds movement to your space.

Lastly, pillows with accents can look really nice and spruce up your space easily. Here is a nice french country pillow.

If your looking to spruce up your bathroom:

Finally match your bathroom set: Doing this is an easy way to spice up your bathroom decor!

New Bath Mat : I tend to avoid ones with words or pictures in my bathroom because it is a bit small and a larger mat could make my bathroom look a tad crowded.
