It’s Not Water: Spicy Jalapeño Margarita Recipe

Spicy margaritas are the ultimate summer beverage. Inspired by one of the C&W team’s favorite NYC dinner spots, Pizza Beach, this cocktail is best enjoyed with pizza or by the pool.

Spicy margaritas are the ultimate summer beverage. Inspired by one of the C&W team’s favorite NYC dinner spots, Pizza Beach, this cocktail is best enjoyed with pizza or by the pool.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila

  • ½ oz. fresh squeezed lime or lime juice

  • ½ teaspoon of orange liquor or ginger liqueur

  • ½ Simple Syrup

  • A jalapeño pepper 

  • Ice

  • Salt 

  • Optional: candied ginger for garnish

Salt the rim of your glass by rubbing an empty glass with a lime wedge and dipping it lightly in a plate of either kosher salt or sea salt.

Combine the tequila, fresh squeezed lime, simple syrup and liquor to a cocktail shaker. Add anywhere from ¼ to ½ of a jalapeño pepper and let sit (the more, the spicier).

Shake and pour over the rocks.

Taste test to make sure you’re happy with the results! Add an extra splash of simple syrup for a sweeter sip and more jalapeño for a spicier sip.

Garnish with a jalapeño slice and a slice of candied ginger. Enjoy!
