It’s Not Water: Warm Spiked Cider

This cocktail recipe is so simple that it may not even be considered a recipe, but it is certainly cozy and delicious. This hot spiked cider is the perfect way to warm up after some time outside in the cold, or to sip on in front of the fire while watching a Sunday football game, and is even a great drink to make on Thanksgiving. I don’t even blame you if you put this in your to-go coffee cup to sip on while taking the dog for a chilly walk.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz of fresh apple cider

  • 3-6 oz of bourbon (depending on if you want each drink to contain one or two shots)

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Yes, those are really all of the ingredients. I told you it’s super simple! I like to warm my fresh apple cider in a pot on the stove until it is hot, but not boiling. Then, I pour the cider into two mason jars, add one or two shots of bourbon to each, and stir it all together with a cinnamon stick. If you don’t like bourbon, you can substitute any type of whiskey, but we like bourbon for its caramel notes. Cheers!
